We’ve reviewed the top credit cards in these categories to give you our picks for the best cards offering the greatest rewards on your gas and restaurant spending.

Everyday expenses add up fast. If you’re always driving around town car pooling with the kids or coworkers, taking clients out to lunch, and treating yourself to fine dining, you should at least get something in return for all those expenses. Carrying the right credit card can reward those purchases with points that add up toward cash back, merchandise, or savings on even more restaurant and gas purchases.

Here are our favorites in this everyday category:

Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express

American Express Premier Rewards is one of the best credit cards for gas and restaurants

This card gives you a hefty sign-up bonus and many opportunities to earn even heftier rewards on your everyday spending. Your gas station, supermarket and restaurant purchases will earn you double points, while your flight purchases earn triple. The $195 annual fee, while nothing to sneeze at, is at least waived the first year. But if you travel a lot – either by car or air – you’re sure to find the annual fee worth the rewards you get in return.

Here’s what we like about the card:

  • $100 Airline Fee Credit. Up to $100 a year in baggage fees and more at one airline.
