Point Savvy has selected some top picks for the best cards to use for your everyday expenses that include gas and groceries.

Trips to the grocery store and the gas station could come with money back in your pocket. Everyday expenses like these add up fast, with the average family spending $300 a week on groceries and $100 on gas, even with prices reaching an all-time low – that’s $20,800 a year in spending in these categories. So there can be a huge advantage in carrying a credit card that heavily rewards spending on these everyday purchases: gas and groceries.

Cash back cards that reward you with 2X points or more can save cardmembers hundreds of dollars a year. Travel credit cards with grocery and gas rewards can help you reach free travel faster by rewarding the purchases you make the most every day.

Simply put, if you buy a lot of groceries and drive a lot of miles, you should earn a lot of points.
